This was by far one of the best days of our 18-day visit to Scotland. We had already seen a number of sites around Inverness so Neil happily customized this tour for us. Neil arrived at our airbnb at least five minutes early. My first impression was that he was a very friendly professional guide. Neil's van was spotless and very comfortable for 6 people. He provided water for us as well. We first reviewed the plans for the day. Our first activity was to drive around Loch Ness. Neil took us down the quieter side and knew the good stops to get great views. He shared a bit of history as well. At Fort Augustus we stopped to watch the boats navigate through the locks. He recognized our interest in the engineering of the locks so we stayed there for quite a few minutes. Neil found a great cafe for lunch. As we walked in, I notice a small play area for children. Being a grandparent I thought this was a great touch. The cafe could accommodate my gluten free diet. The BLT was wonderful as well as the soup. Neil joined us for lunch. By this time we felt like he was a member of the group. On the way back to Inverness, we stopped at Urquhart Castle. Since we really did not need to tour the grounds but wanted to get photos, Neil found a way to get to park without going in. He knew just the right spot along the highway for photos. Once back in Inverness, we headed over to Fort George. Most of the tours bypass the fort, which is a shame for anyone interested in the history after Culloden. The fort had an excellent museum showcasing artifacts from wars and skirmishes into the 20th century. The grounds are well maintained and buildings are still in use. You can easily spend a minimum of 2 hours. Neil dropped us off in the city center as we wanted to pick up a last minute gift before we left for home. We really hated to say good-bye to Neil. I wish I had found him before we planned our trip. Neil does multi-day tours throughout Scotland. I would have scheduled him to tour us around. Should we go back, Neil will be the first I will contact to schedule a tour! This is more than a 5-star tour company!

Neil provided an excellent tour for our group daytrip to Skye. We saw so much of the island and were enriched by his knowledge. He took care to look after the slower members of our group and spent extra time with us to make sure we saw all that had been planned. I would certainly recommend Neil for individuals or groups visiting the Highlands.

This was an exceptional trip, just exactly what I requested. Neil & Isla were knowledgeable of the area and made it worth the experience.
